I didn’t take my first international flight until I was 24 but since then, I have tried to make travel a priority. I think you need to figure out what is important to you (house, clothes, travel, etc.), and save for that. I don’t think I have purchased new work clothes in the last two years because I was so focused on saving money! I am sure my former co-workers could attest to my fashion sense, or lack thereof. I put any extra funds toward seeing new places and saving for my RTW trip. Although my itinerary is very open ended, I have an idea of where I would like to leave my footprints during my grand adventure!
